Peer Under the Surface Cruise returns!
After last year’s successful Peerless cruise, we had to offer another one. We had a waiting list for our first ever educational cruise.
We are a science-based not-for-profit charity, and a lot of our time and energy goes into research. Join us for an educational environmental experience. We love sharing what we’ve learned.
Join Norman Yan and Ron Ingram as they discover what is under the surface in Lake Muskoka. Norman has spent a lifetime learning about the tiny creatures (Daphnia) that help eat the algae to keep our lakes clean. Ron spent decades sampling zooplankton at the Dorset Environment Centre. They are going to help us identify and understand the almost invisible animals that help keep our lakes clean.
Peer Under the Surface cruise on Wednesday, August 13 from 10 a.m. to noon leaving from the Milford Bay. (1148 Milford Bay Road at Baycliffe Park).
$65 per person. Only 40 tickets are available for this event. Don’t delay.
Please join us. (On-line registration and ticket sales below)

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support provided by Explorer’s Edge.
Peer Under the Surface 2025

When: Wednesday, August 13th, 10am to 12pm
Where: 1148 Milford Bay Road, Baycliffe Park, Milford Bay.
We are doing it again. We’ve partnered with the Peerless (Sunset Cruises) to offer an August 13 morning cruise with FOTMW board member and scientist Norman Yan. It’s a fun yet educational environmental cruise. Guests have the opportunity to see the tiny creatures that are pulled from the lake using a huge research net. Guests try to find the tiny creatures in the water samples, while Norman and Ron explain what they are seeing. Learn a little more about our freshwater lakes, help us count the tiny creatures and enjoy a beautiful Lake Muskoka cruise. Thanks to support from Explorers’ Edge, we can offer this science-based event for visitors and residents.
