SUMMARY:ASHMuskoka Drive - Saturday\, February 21
DESCRIPTION:Bring your cold wood ash to the Rosewarne Transfer Station at 1065 Rosewarne Drive in Bracebridge.\nWood ash has been used to restore the well-documented damage to forests and lakes caused by widespread calcium (Ca) decline in Muskoka. Restoration begins by restoring soil and groundwater Ca levels to their pre-acid rain levels. \nThe 2026 dates to follow are March 28 and April 19. \nQuestions? Contact us at friends@fotmw.org or call 605-640-0948.

SUMMARY:Peer Under the Surface Cruise - on the Peerless with FOTMW experts
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Monday\, July 13 for our Third Annual excursion on Sunset Cruise’s Peerless II. We leave from Port Carling docks at 10 a.m. but guests are asked to arrive by 9:40 a.m. \nOnboard will be Dr. Norman Yan and Ron Ingram as we learn about the zooplankton that lives under the surface. They use a giant net to pull out thousands of tiny creatures that passengers have the chance to examine up close. \nFor this cruise\, Peerless II will head down the northwest shoreline of Lake Muskoka and head over towards the west arm of the lake\, stopping near the Kettles for a peer beneath the surface. After our first stop and testing\, we move south into East Bay and examine the water quality and life there. Return to Port Carling via Horseshoe Island.  \nTickets are $75\, including tax. For tickets contact Sandy by email sandy@fotmw.org  or call Alesha at FOTMW’s # 705-640-0948. Payment may be made via credit card\, cash in person or via e-transfer. \nDon’t hesitate. Cruise is limited to 40 tickets.
