PRESS RELEASE: Aitchison uses Friends of the Muskoka Watershed and ASHMuskoka as example

November 27, 2021 by pg

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Thursday, November 25, 2021

Muskoka, ON – ASHMuskoka, a project of the Friends of the Muskoka Watershed, took centre stage in the House of Commons on the first day of the 44th Canadian Parliament.

Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Scott Aitchison addressed the House and called on all his colleagues, regardless of party affiliation, to rise above party politics and come together by reaching across the aisle and finding common ground in solving the problems that Canadians are facing.

Aitchison cited the Friends of the Muskoka Watershed and it’s ASHMuskoka project as an excellent example of everyday Canadians of all partisan stripes working together to collaboratively solve the problem of climate change.

At the last Friends of the Muskoka Watershed Ash Drive, Aitchison attended to learn more about the ASHMuskoka project. Environmental Calcium decline is damaging half of Muskoka’s 1600 lakes and a significant part of our forests.

Together with the support of prominent citizens such as Aitchison, and the thousands of advocates throughout the Muskoka Region, we can help protect our lakes, streams, rivers, and forests for future generations while we battle climate change.
