We’ve got a place to store your ash!

May 16, 2019 by pg

A great big THANK YOU to all of our volunteer ash donors, not only for contributing ash to the ASHMuskoka project, but also for your patience as we organized a drop-off location and received all the necessary regulatory approvals.

Our ASH DRIVE will be held

Saturday, June 1st, 2019

at

Rosewarne Transfer Station, 1062 Rosewarne Dr., Bracebridge

from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm

Please bring the wood ash you have been saving to the site where it will be collected and stored prior to being deployed at three sugar bushes where we will be demonstrating the benefits of wood ash.

Remember to not add any fresh ash to your cans before you come to the ash drive. We do not want any HOT ash.

We will provide you with a replacement container so that you may continue to save your wood ash for the project.

Friends of Muskoka Watershed staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the day to assist you in unloading your ash cans and to answer any questions you may have.

If you are unable to transport your saved ash to the Rosewarne site on June 1st, please let us know. We need your ash and we will coordinate with you to make alternate arrangements.

To help us manage the ash drive, please fill in the form below to let us know if you plan to drop-off your ash can(s) yourself or if you will need our help.

You can also email us that information at

ashmuskoka@fotmw.org

Please do not contact the District Municipality of Muskoka directly for further information.

Friends of the Muskoka Watershed thanks all the folks in Muskoka who have decided to save and now share their wood ash to help solve the problem of calcium decline that is now threatening half the lakes in Muskoka.
